The Challenge

Fusing the literal form of a burger with the brand's typography using a clean, scalable monoline aesthetic.

The core challenge for MEU BURGUER was to design a logo that was simple, descriptive, and highly premium without resorting to cliché, cartoonish, or overly busy food imagery. The logo needed to instantly communicate both the product (burger) and the brand’s modern aesthetic in a single, scalable mark. A key technical hurdle was achieving the monoline fusion—constructing the typography and the icon from lines of precisely the same thickness. This required careful custom drawing to ensure the letters remained legible while perfectly aligning with the geometric shapes of the bun and layers. The logo had to feel clean and contemporary, a visual step up from standard burger joints.

Our approach

Using uniform line weight and negative space to merge the Wordmark with an icon.

The strategic approach focused on Illustrative Typography and Monoline Purity. The brand opted for a single, warm, appetite-inducing color (Orange-Red) against a neutral black field to maximize pop and modernity. The core technique was the Single-Weight Line Construction: the entire design was built using one uniform line thickness, which creates visual harmony between the textual and illustrative elements and makes the logo appear engineered and meticulous. By subtly shaping the outer lines into the form of a burger, the design creates a memorable visual trick—it’s both a wordmark and a stylized icon. This minimalist approach successfully positions MEU BURGUER as a modern brand that prides itself on simplicity and quality.

project breakdown

uniform line weight, integrating the text and icon.

The project began with Monoline Type Customization, designing the “BURGUER” wordmark from scratch using only uniform-thickness lines to ensure it fit the strict aesthetic. This was immediately followed by Icon Integration and Line Flow, where the horizontal lines of the typography were strategically extended and curved to form the bun and layers of the burger, creating the seamless visual pun. The final, crucial stage was Color and Background Finalization, testing the high-contrast Orange-Red on Black palette to confirm that the monoline structure maintained its sharpness and visual energy across all digital and print applications, cementing the brand’s sleek, modern feel.
