The Challenge

Conveying explosive flavor through playful visual fun.

The primary challenge was to carve out a distinct and memorable space in the highly saturated dessert and snack food market, moving beyond generic branding to appeal directly to a youth-oriented audience. The brand needed an identity that could visually communicate its explosive flavor and indulgence (“Bomb”) while remaining friendly and non-intimidating. This required developing a system versatile enough to translate across multiple packaging formats, from small bags to large boxes and apparel, using a bold, consistent visual language that prioritizes fun and instant recognition over traditional food elegance.

Our approach

Building brand around a cartoon mascot and custom type.

Our approach centered on designing an expressive Mascot and a proprietary Wordmark that could own the brand’s name. We designed the cookie mascot with a minimalist, line-art style, giving it a universal, vintage cartoon appeal. This mascot was then paired with a custom, pillowy bubble-script wordmark that reinforces the soft, chewy texture of the product. The choice of an electric blue and soft pink color scheme was strategic, creating high visual contrast and an intentionally non-traditional food identity, making the packaging instantly recognizable on a shelf and highly shareable on social media.

project breakdown

Character design, custom typography, and multi-format packaging

The project commenced with Mascot Concept and Development, ensuring the character was expressive and simple enough for small-scale applications. The second phase was Custom Wordmark Creation, which involved designing the unique bubble typography for the brand name. This led to Color and Pattern System Development, where the core blue, pink, and white palette was finalized alongside secondary icons (e.g., bomb, peace sign) and the repetitive background patterns. The final, critical phase was Packaging and Merchandise Application, testing the full system across various deliverables, including folding boxes, paper bags, aprons, and t-shirts, to guarantee visual continuity and scalability.
